The Evolution PSV wheelchair cushion by Varilite is an ideal choice for those at risk of tissue breakdown and those with symmetric positioning needs as it features a foam-air floatation design with pressure setting valve that takes the guesswork out of air inflation adjustments.
Three types of foam are used to create the functional areas of the foam bottom of this seating surface:
The single chamber air floatation section allows for adjustment of the air inflation level to conform to the user's body contours for better pressure distribution using Varilite's exclusive PSV (pressure setting valve). This valve is marked with three pre-set positions which provide the best range of immersion into the cushion for most users. When the user is sitting on the fully inflated cushion the PSV senses the amount of internal pressure in the cushion and will release the appropriate amount of air in order to reach the desired pre-set position.
This design makes it easy to adjust this air wheelchair cushion to meet changing support and comfort needs and eliminates worry about using pumps, accessories, kneading or manipulation making this cushion valued by caregivers and users alike.
The Evolution PSV cushion comes with a four-way stretch cover that is available in mesh or incontinence styles and features a non-slip bottom and hook and loop attachment to ensure the cushion stays in place during daily activities and transfers.
This cushion is available with the optional PSV (pressure setting valve) that automatically adjusts the air inflation level based on a pre-set position. See the Evolution PSV cushion for additional details.

I've been using these cushions for over 10 years and they are great for pressure distribution and seating comfort. I can only give it 3 stars because every cushion I have owned has failed within 2 years. They start to leak air around the valve (PSV). All have been replaced under warranty but it's a hassle.
